Weather-exposed decking timber

The service life of decking that is fully exposed to sunlight and the weather will be enhanced by applying a protective finish system to all joints and exposed surfaces.

This is done at the time of construction and as a regular maintenance procedure complying with the recommendations from the manufacturer or Timber Queensland.

Pale-coloured finishes are preferred.

A tongue and grooved profile is not suitable for external flooring and decking applications.
