Strength group - dry
Seasoned (dry) timbers are assigned one of 8 strength groups: SD1 (strongest) to SD8 (weakest).

- Classifications without brackets (i.e. SD1, SD2, SD3, SD4, SD5, SD6, SD7, SD8) were determined from mechanical test data using small, clear specimens.
- Classifications in brackets e.g. (SD3) are provisional assessments based on density and/or limited mechanical test data.
- Provisional classifications can be used with confidence as they are assessed conservatively.
- The strength groups agree with AS/NZS 2878-2000 Timber—classification into strength groups (Standards Australia 2000a).

- 99 - 99 means the timber is non-structural and so is not assigned to a strength group.
